Completion of four years of secondary education and successfully passed State Secondary School Leaving Examination (and the entrance exam - for students above 25)

Knowledge and understanding

  • acquire basic knowledge in the field of Croatian studies, linguistics and literary science
  • understand the basic linguistic terms and general linguistic literature
  • understand basic terms of literary theory and know the literary theory literature
  • learn and understand the history of the Croatian language, Croatian dialectology, the Old Slavonic language and the Croatian Glagolitic Movement, the contemporary Croatian language and the basics of language culture
  • learn and understand the basics of literary theory, and the corpus and genre of the works of Croatian oral literature, old Croatial literature, contemporary Croatian literature and world literature
  • know the basic stylistic terms and acquire cultural knowledge in the field of humanities and related disciplines
  • know all the elements of editing
  • know the practical forms of linguistic and literary analysis of texts.

Application of knowledge and understanding

  • be successful in editing
  • apply the linguistic knowledge in spoken language and direct text analysis
  • apply literary history, literary linguistic and literary cultural knowledge in autonomous interpretation of works of old and contemporary Croatian literature, Croatian oral literature and world literature
  • understand contemporary literary theories and apply them in text analysis
  • apply practical methods used in linguistic and literary analysis of texts.
